COYA FIVE FOR BIG FIVE

We would also like to thank our customers, suppliers, partners and stakeholders both local and international and indeed everyone who has made this possible.

KWS has demonstrated leadership in its core business of wildlife conservation and management. It is rapidly becoming a shining example for its conservation practices in Africa. We have become the sounding board as exemplified in CITES and the Lusaka Agreement Task Force in collaboration with other stakeholders.

KWS has shown best practices in leadership and corporate governance. Director, Mr. Julius Kipng’etich has been exceptional in inspiring and applying transformational leadership to implement change. He has potrayed practical competencies in leadership - mentoring, coaching and succession planning.

The COYA awards recognised him as the CEO who enabled change and transformed the company into a model of performance management that is unique in the public sector. It is this style of leadership that bagged KWS several COYA awards namely:

  1. CEO of the year -Mr. Julius Kipng’etich (Director KWS)
  2. Leadership practices
  3. Corporate governance
  4. First runner up - Manager of the year award (Mrs. Sharon Kisire–Head of Human Capital)
  5. Second runners up - Company of the year 2009
