KWS to launch School Sponsorship Programme

Kenya Wildlife Service will on Monday March 29, 2010 at 12pm launch a sponsorship programme at the Nairobi Safari Walk in Nairobi. The new initiative will see various schools receive a substantial financial boost ahead of this year’s secondary school ball games. The programme will sponsor Maseno School, Alliance Girls and Kakamega High School at a total cost of Sh687, 300. These schools have over the years demonstrated exemplary performance in both academics and sports. Maseno is the regional and national 2nd runners up in basketball while Alliance Girls are the reigning Central Province basketball champions. Kakamega High School has also been synonymous with the Rugby Sevens through churning out a high number of national team players.
The sponsorship package will be designed to motivate the team to win the title and partner with KWS in promoting conservation and tourism efforts during the Dubai Sevens tournament.  Part of the sponsorship will also see each of these schools partnered with a KWS Park where they are expected to participate in volunteer work while at the same time play the role of brand ambassadors for KWS.
