HUDUMA NAMBA LAUNCH BY CS BALALA

Cabinet Secretary for Tourism & Wildlife, Hon. Najib Balala, today led staff from his ministry and tourism and wildlife stakeholders in registering for the Huduma Namba, at KWS headquarters, Nairobi.

Hon Balala allayed public fears on the system, saying the two-day registration was neither satanic nor did it require one’s blood group, blood status or DNA as claimed by critics.

Kenya Wildlife Service in conjunction with United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) launched Corruption Prevention Policy and Code of Conduct on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at KWS headquarters, Nairobi.

The two documents are aimed at modernizing and governing the working norms and techniques of KWS. UNODC working closely with Kenya Wildlife service developed the two crucial documents.

Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Hon Najib Balala Sunday (April 14, 2019) a free entry-day for Kenyan citizens to three Nairobi wildlife areas.

Hon Balala allowed Kenyans free access to Nairobi National Park, Nairobi Animal Orphanage and Nairobi Safari Walk as a token of appreciation for their support for wildlife conservation.

Kenya Wildlife Service Director General, Brigadier (Rtd) John Waweru says KWS has developed a Corporate Policy to train community rangers at its Law Enforcement Academy (LEA) in Manyani, as part of capacity building for the entire wildlife conservation fraternity in Kenya.

This, Brigadier Waweru says, will ensure the community rangers are well trained to cope with the challenges that they encounter in the course of their duties.

The Vice President of the Cuban Council of State and of Ministers, H.E Ines Maria Chapman today, April 2, 2019 visited Nairobi National Park, to sample Kenya’s beautiful wildlife.

H.E Maria Chapman who is visiting Kenya, had an enjoyable two-hour game drive in the park, located within Nairobi city.

Kenya’s flagship National Reserves were the main focus of discussion in a historic consultative meeting hosted by KWS at the Nairobi Safari Walk on March 25, 2019.

The main objective of this inaugural consultative meeting was to deliberate on how to resuscitate Kenya’s long-dormant National Reserves as well as find mutually acceptable methods of resolving some of the problems bedeviling the Counties which play host to National Reserves.

The new Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Director General Brig. (Rtd.) John Waweru has urged the staff to exercise professionalism, teamwork, and dedication in their work. Speaking when he was introduced to staff during the weekly Director’s Tea last week, the DG said the entire Service system would crumble if any of the cogs which make up KWS staff failed to pull their weight.
