To Hell’s Gate on a Wheelbarrow

Hell’s Gate National Park, Naivasha.
Distance: 100kms from Nairobi
Area: 60sq kms
Altitude: 5000 - 7000 Ft above sea level
Corporate Team Building
To Hell’s Gate on a wheelbarrow is an annual Corporate Team Building challenge whose primary objective is to raise funds for the construction of a Conservation Education Centre in Hell’s Gate National Park. The facility will play a key role in the mobilization and sensitization of over 1 million members of local communities in the Naivasha area on the importance of protecting and conserving wildlife species, as well as educating them on alternative wildlife enterprise for their economic benefit.
Applications can be downloaded from www.kws.go.ke or picked from KWS HQS and other KWS parks and reserves offices countrywide. Entries will not be accepted without a signed indemnity form. Submit your signed forms by email to email@example.com.
Corporate Team building challenge
The Corporate Team building Challenge is a fun and competitive platform for corporate organizations to register and compete as corporate teams while fostering team spirit at the same time. Participants must be employees of the same company.
*The Corporate Teambuilding Challenge requires a minimum of five and a maximum of 10 members per team.
The closing date for receiving ALL event entries is May 31st 2011.
THE WHEELBARROW RACE
Individual Category – KShs. 5,000
Corporate Category – Kshs. 100,000
ALL races will begin at intervals between 8.30am and 9.00am on Saturday 11th June 2011
WHEELBARROW RACE PRIZES
Each race participant will receive a medal and goody bag on finishing.

The course is an exciting and very challenging 7km circuit at Fischer’s Tower in the park at an altitude of
MEDICAL SUPPORT AND WATER
Emergency medical support will be provided.
A well manned recovery tent will be situated at the finish line.
Basic first aid will be available at water stations situated along the course.
HELL’S GATE NATIONAL PARK & OLKARIA GEOTHERMAL PLANT TOUR
All visitors are encouraged to tour the Hell’s Gate National Park. A guided tour of the Olkaria Geothermal Power Station will be organized between 3.00pm and 5.00pm on Saturday 11th June 2011..
THE HELL’S GATE LIVE CONCERT
KWS will host the inaugural Hell’s Gate Live Wheelbarrow Concert and a spectacular wild bush party at the magnificent Hell’s Gate National Park in Naivasha. The Hell’s Gate Wheelbarrow Concert will be an Afro fusion concert and we expect to host a crowd of between 7,000 to 10,000 fans and more than five performances by some of the best Afro fusion/ Afro Soul bands in East Africa
Accommodation will be provided to participants wishing to stay at the Hell’s Gate National Park. ALL campsites will be open from 10th June 2.00pm to 12th June 2011 10.00am. For your accommodation needs, kindly contact Vicky on 0722290181

LONGONOT EXECUTIVE TENTED CAMPSITE
The LongonotExecutive Tented Campsite is a tented camp with single beds and bedding
The Olkaria Campsite is a tented camp with twin beds and bedding. Participants and spectators wishing to use the campsite area are required to bring their own essential toiletries (Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towels etc).
The Manyatta Campsite is a walk in tented camp with comfortable beddings. Campers here will not be provided with meals on the package but arrangements have been made to provide affordable meals by other event partners.
Important to note:
1. There will be affordable meals provided at the food courts by other independent caterers.
2. Cash bars will be setup to sell drinks at affordable prices.
3. ALL participants camping at Manyatta will pay 1000 camping fees per person.
4. ALL campsites will be equipped with water points, cold and hot showers and long drop
5. ALL campers are asked to respect the KWS rules and regulations for dumping of
wastes, respecting local communities and all wildlife and acting with consideration

Helicopters can land at the Hell’s Gate National park but prior arrangements have to be made through the Event coordinator or the Hell’s Gate National Park Senior Warden.
Accommodation and event race fees are non-refundable if cancellation notice is received less than 30days to the event. Cancellation notice received more than 30 days prior to the event will result in a 70% refund of the accommodation fees ONLY.
