OPENING OF AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK AIRSTRIP

Release Date:
Thursday, January 23, 2020 - 20:00

Further to our earlier communication on the status of roads and airstrips in our national parks, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is pleased to notify the public that the Amboseli National Park airstrip has been re-opened with immediate effect.

This follows a thorough assessment of the airstrip runway, as well as all park roads used to access the airstrip that was carried out by KWS, in conjunction with stakeholders comprising hotels and lodges located in the park. The assessment found the airstrip to be fully serviceable. The adjacent Customer Service Centre is also now accessible and feeder roads to and from the airstrip are motorable.

KWS wishes to assure the public that Amboseli National Park is open and safe to visit, and any inquiries from clients using either our roads or airstrips should be directed to THE the park hotline number 0716 493 335.
