KWS SCOOPS AWARD AT THE ANNUAL EMBU ASK SHOW

Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has won second prize in the ‘Best Non-Agricultural Based Board stand’ category for its services to the public during the just concluded Eastern region Agricultural society of Kenya (ASK) show in Embu.

The event that was graced by Cabinet secretary for Agriculture Hon. Felix Kosgei was held at Embu from June 12 -14, 2014.KWS team was drawn from Meru National Park, Embu station and Mt. Kenya National Park.The show, whose theme was Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security and National Growth, was officially opened to the public by the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary and Governor for Embu County Hon. Martin Wambora.KWS displayed a stand showcasing activities carried out by different departments aimed at enhancing wildlife conservation including stuffed animals and an electric fence used mitigate against Human Wildlife Conflicts.

Other organizations that participated in the show include; Ministry of industrialization, Telcom Kenya, Equity Bank, Kenya Prison Services, Safaricom Limited, Ministry of Agriculture, KEPHIS Kenya, Chuka University among others.
