China has donated eighteen four-wheel vehicles and assorted equipment to Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to aid in wildlife conservation and stem wildlife crime.

The East African Wild Life Society (EAWLS) and the Mara Conservation Fund (MCF) have donated 14 off-road motorcycles to anti-poaching operations by various organizations.
The organizations include the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Narok County Government, and community wildlife conservancies in the Mara. The motorcycles are expected to improve patrolling of wildlife areas as well as cut down on response time to poaching attempts.

The chairmen of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) and the National Land Commission (NLC) will hold a joint press conference tomorrow (Friday, July 31, 2015) at 11 am at the KWS headquarters in Lang’ata on the acquisition of land for construction of the Standard Gauge Railway in Nairobi.

Over the last one week Kenya Wildlife Service has experienced sporadic mortalities of buffaloes in Lake Nakuru National Park. The buffaloes have been observed with signs of weakness, lack of feeding followed by sudden deaths.
